November Wrap Up

This was a really strange reading month for me. A bunch of short books and novellas, some

disappointing ARCs - but also some amazing ones… It was up and down really… I found it impossible to stick to any sort of genre or TBR or even a vague… and had like waaaaay too many books going at once. But I have my usual full write up posted on my blog - see link in bio.

High point of the month was teaming up with Kristin for the holiday novella round up - see all the exciting stuff tomorrow!

Favorite Overall of the Month: This might be because I had been waiting for this for a while… or it might be because I already read by ARC copy twice… but Ride the Tide by Julie Ann Walker was just super cool! Emotionally constipated hero, discussions of gaslighting, steamy sexy times and not to mention running form the bad guys with guns!

Favorite ARC of the Month: At Last by Mindy McKinley! Again, I might be biased because I adore this awesome lady but I was so happy to see her debut that I have absolutely no chill about it. Check out book one of the Adams Brothers and look for book two - with some serious arm porn and an emotionally constipated heroine! - out December 22!

Quote of the Month: I honestly could have highlighted any time this hero spoke but Talia Hibbert’s Wrapped Up in You had some great quotes - here is just a taste! “He’d thought it might seem a little romantic. Will was beginning to suspect he was a romantic, which was inconvenient since the woman he wanted to be romantic for didn’t seem to like it.”

Something New: I had a new to me author - J. Saman - arc for Just One Kiss. I went in with no expectations and ended up laughing, crying and enjoying the hell out of this little novel. Curl up with a cup of doctored cocoa and enjoy this one. (Available on KU.)

Something Old: It had been sitting on my kindle for so long - but I finally read Laura Kaye’s Hard As It Gets - super great read! The main couple are fascinating, it is wicked steamy and it was a good set up for the rest of the series. (My second favorite in the series is definitely Jeremy and Charlie’s little novella!)

Favorite Pair: I have to go with Dr. Isabel Santiago and Roman Steele from Fatal Deception by April Hunt. The chemistry from day one was amazing with these two. The banter, the sexy-times, and literally every time Roman calls her “Doc” - I loved them!
